People in the gym gravitate to the area where Rob Snyder is coaching me. They watch as though they came to witness an Olympic event. It is not a one time thing either, it happens quite often! Why? They get caught up in my coach’s words of encouragement that drives me to perform at my maximum potential. Reminiscent of hearing a Rocky movie in the next room and you have to walk over to see it because it inspires you . It reminds me of my favorite runner of all time and his coach, Steve Prefontaine and Coach Bill Bowerman of Oregon State and Co-Founder of Nike.

“A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.” – Steve Prefontaine

I’m not the biggest guy in the gym. In fact, I’m the guy who looks like he doesn’t fit in. You know that guy. He belongs in a posh looking gym, where people are more interested in conversation at the juice bar, and he never breaks a sweat. Those guys watch TV, while walking on the treadmill, and post their check-in on facebook to let people know they are at a gym.

This is not that gym. This is Lion Heart Gym, where there is no “noise rules”. Guys show up here to push themselves to the extreme, slam weights on the ground and scream loud as they give it everything they have. No pool, juice bar or amenities here. At Lion Heart Gym, you go outside and flip a 400 lb tractor tire and come inside to push weights until you find yourself knocking on death’s door. Here, at Lion Heart, you go home after a workout slapping yourself in the face every mile on the way home so you don’t pass out.

Today was like most workouts, Rob pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of and shut down the part of my brain that says; “I can’t”. This is my coach. Toward the end of my workout, I was on the stationary bike going faster and faster and as Rob shouted his words that drove me further and further, Steve Prefontaine came to my mind. When I was on my last minute of riding, Rob’s words drove me to give it the hardest kick ever to win the race! At this point, hearing this screaming from my coach and hearing me wail as I gave it my all, spectators started to form. They stopped what they were doing and came over to watch as though they wanted to see if i would win! I did.

Today, I left the gym with a Gold Medal around my neck, not literally, but in my mind. Today, my coach Rob Snyder made me the greatest athlete in the world. As I left, the big guys in the gym knew without a doubt I belong there. – Tim Huck

Resistance Bands allow you to know the weight they’re using in resistance. Today’s Resistance Bands come in many different sizes and weights structures: Tens, Twenties, Thirties and so on. Being small and lightweight, Resistance Bands are great for travel. These powerful bands pack a mighty punch in delivering an exceptional workout.

Unlike traditional weights like dumbbells and barbells, Resistance Bands rely on gravity to give the user the workout.

Resistance Bands are used in the space program NASA to help the astronauts maintain their muscle mass. Resistance Bands do not require gravity, so it gives the astronauts a fantastic work out and allows for many different angles that you could not do with weights.

Being positive and upbeat about your workout will certainly get you more results as well as making your workouts more enjoyable.

Focusing on the Negative of the exercise will get you more bang for your buck in a shorter amount of time. Unfortunately, many people miss the Negative of the exercise! Go to any gym and you will see this happen time and time again: People lifting weights and strain hard to get the Positive up and then drop the weight quickly in the Negative.

You can see it in the Bench Press for the guy strange the press to wait and then drop the bass is Shasta stranger president again or in the weighted pull down where the person does the pool the way down to their chest only to let it drop quickly away the negative part of the exercise will read the greatest rude rude ward we practice A 1 second positive. And a free second negative combine that with the whole Time Under Load principal and you gotta workout design to build lean muscle mass and burn on 1 fat fast effective in fun

TUL or Time Under Load is the principle and practice we simply love at ZipFit because it delivers a better workout than standard Sets And Reps Workout Programs, giving the participants greater results.

Scientific studies prove that muscle in roading takes place after 45 seconds to a minute of workload workouts in the typical manner of sets and reps,

However done in the fashion of anywhere between 12 and 15 sets and reps ranging from 6 to 12 after studying shown when to test things work out in the temple fashion and numbers in reps that the set itself takes no longer than 24 seconds unfortunately falling 22nd shorter then needed for true muscle in roading here at ZipFit our practice of Time Under Load we typically do things in sets of 1 minute reps in loading the muscle with every workout benefiting the dozen and a greater workload over a shorter.

Looking for a fun, fast workout?

The ElliptiGO, is the best of running and cycling combined delivering you a low impact, high performance workout while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

The ElliptiGO is a hybrid between a bike and elliptical trainer that comes in several models. Its creators, two Ironman triathletes, claim that the ElliptiGO burns 33 percent more calories than a bike.

The equipment, which looks kind of like a bicycle that’s missing a seat, has up to 11 speeds, can reach 15-25 miles per hour and can even convert to a stationary bike.

The ElliptiGO was built with current, past and injured runners in mind, says co-founder Bryan Pate.

The ElliptiGO first became available in stores in 2010. The product has quickly grown in popularity, even without heavy company sponsorships.

Popular ultra-marathoner Karnazes is perhaps the best-known ElliptiGO user. The New York Times best-selling author, who in 2006 ran 50 marathons in all 50 U.S. states in 50 consecutive days (finishing with the NYC Marathon, which he ran in three hours flat) is an early investor in the company and has been an avid user for more than two years. As you can imagine, he puts in some serious miles.

RowBike is the fastest full body workout you can experience bar NONE.

I’ve trained on today’s most advanced human propelled exercise gear and the RowBike has your muscles screaming and your heart racing more effectively than any other gear I’ve experienced to date.

RowBike did improve, as currently I ride the original model. The newer models have 8 speeds, which makes a HUGE difference, as with the newer model you can simply tool around the neighborhood, or up-shift and experience a full body burn like never before. If you’re serious about burning fat and adding lean muscle mass, you need to ride a RowBike!

Probably one of the most googled fitness questions of all time, nobody
likes the real answer because the answer is too simple.

The fastest way to six pack abs is proper diet, because we all have “6 Packs” heck
some of us have “kegs“. You can do crunches but that won’t do it, sure
you’ll get bigger stronger muscles but they’ll be covered by fat.

What we really need is strong core muscles, not six packs!

The Core Muscle is basically the area in which your bath towel covers when
wrapped around your body from the arm pits to the buttocks. The core
supports your arms, legs, neck and head and is the base and foundation for
movement of them.

While the “six pack muscles” may look good, it’s the
Correlation of the internal and external obliques, pelvic muscles,
various abdominal and lower back muscles that give the body strength
and stability.

That’s why it’s imperative that you train the entire core!

What do you think of these video series on TV like the p90x?

I love those series, I remember doing Ty BO.

Seriously these workouts are powerful, intense and they get results. I’ve had numerous clients
that purchased them (heck I own a few) but unfortunately most never got
past week 3-4.

It’s a shame too because I’ve had couples that exercised together and they got results but somehow things got busy and old habits set back in.

What is ZipFit, is it some kind of workout?

It stands for Zealously Improving People with Fitness

What made you decide to become a personal trainer?

I’ve had two passion for as long as I can remember, Entertaining and
Fitness. I’ve always believed that I was put here to make a positive
impact on mankind.

I’ve made a living now for over 20+ years entertaining at events
across the country. My friends and family know about my fitness
passion and would often ask advice on training. I began coaching
friends and family, they responded fantastic making great strides in
their fitness goals.

One evening I was sitting watching my little
girls’ cheer leading practice and another parent ask my advice on
losing weight. As we started talking I realized that most of these
parents were sitting around for a couple hours a night eating
concession stand food, so I organized a “Free” Fitness Group, it cost
nothing, heck I had NO EQUIPMENT. I wish I could say that I was hooked
that first night, but truthfully most the mom’s complained and moaned,
I just kept encouraging them. Watching someone do more, become more
than they think they’re capable of, that what life is all about.

Hi I’m Jennifer and this is my story:

I was tired of how my life was going, don’t get me wrong I love my family. Truth is I was disappointed in myself, I just didn’t know it. You see I was approaching 40 and the youthful body I once possessed had given way to bad habits that I could no longer hide…(deep breath) I was 264 pounds and my body was beginning to betray me with medical issues that I’m certain could have (would have) destroyed my future. I could go into all of the details, that’s irrelevant. Because if you have been in my shoes you know first hand what an extra 100 plus pounds does to the human body.

I needed to change. Funny how we often put our WANTS before our needs, guess I WAS no different. It was August 31, 2011, I decided that I not only needed to change, but I WANTED to change. As painful (and I must admit shameful) as it is to share this, I’m doing so to Help someone else….it may be you, it may be friend or loved one. I can write this because I am not that same person, and Hell if I can do it, you certainly can too. I have two wonderful kids and a loving husband (my childhood sweetheart Robin). I’ve always been involved in their lives, and as many good parents do. I neglected my own life to give them a better life than I had. Funny how that works! I soon realized that my unhealthy habits and lack of physical exercise was a bad example to them, WTF I was a good parent. I gave my kids most everything they wanted and EVERYTHING they needed… except a healthy role model.

Today I give them that and more. So August 31, 2011 was the day that all changed. You see a friend (Christie Debolt) invited me out to do Fun Fitness with my kids’ friends parent. I could say he was a friend but truthfully he was more of a acquaintance than a friend. Today I call him a friend, a really really good friend, Rob Snyder. So that day in August I walked over to McDevvitt Park for his “Fun Fitness”. I remember like it was yesterday, I was scared, hell my legs hurt just from walking over. I kept thinking to myself. What the HELL am I doing! It was 94 degrees out and HELLO it’s Florida can you say humid. I was sweating before I got there, besides what could be “fun” about sweating my ass off in a field with a group of parents that I didn’t really know? My friend was pretty persuasive because I did go….reluctantly BUT I TOOK THE first step and man what a journey it’s been.

Thinking about the first night I came out to join ZipFit, I was very nervous and scared. I remember telling a friend while walking over to the field that my legs were already hurting. During the workout I kept saying I can’t do this but, everyone that was there kept encouraging me and telling me, yes you can. I wanted to quit because my body was hurting so bad. I pushed thru the workout and was very proud that I had stuck with it. Today I look forward to working out and pushing myself harder each time and if someone’s struggling I always tell them you can do this and encourage them to push thru it.

When I started this journey 36 weeks ago I never thought I’d be where I am today. I had no coordination, balance & couldn’t walk or jog a short distance without becoming short of breath. I knew I had to do something about my weight and health when my heart would palpitate, hips and knees would ache when walking. I was knocking on death’s door at 40 yrs. old. I remember the first night I joined the workout group, there was about 16 people there. I was very nervous and scared, I had never did anything like this before. I struggled thru the workout because I was uncoordinated and was out of breath but, I stuck with it and haven’t missed a workout since I started this new journey in my life. Looking back I wished I had kept a journal to look back on day one and where I am today. I’m down 51lbs and I feel great and can’t wait to workout every week with Rob. He has definitely changed my life. I really feel if I can do this anyone can.
